During the first 30 minutes of your event, guests will enjoy appetizers at Blue Ribbon served to them directly from the food truck of your choice* or street food small bites provided by our chefs. During the event introduction, we will present the dynamics of cooking and serving in a food truck and tips for working within these parameters. Your group will keep these concepts in mind as they conceive of and execute menus for the Competition part of the event.
After enjoying appetizers, guests are divided into groups (randomly or predetermined by your company). Each group will choose a member to represent them during the random drawing of their Food Truck Theme. They will then have 90 minutes of hands-on cooking time, and the help of a professional chef, to create 2 savory main dish selections and one sweet treat that embody the theme they have drawn. In addition to the food, each group is responsible for creating a name for their truck as well as designing a full written menu of other food items the truck would offer.
Each team’s creations are served buffet style creating a breathtaking presentation. Judging takes place behind the scenes (by chefs that are not working with your event) and winners are selected according to flavor, ability to adhere to the theme, a well-rounded menu, and how well the dynamics of food preparation and service in a food truck were considered in the execution of their food and overall menu. The winning team is announced during dessert.
